Subtopic - Being The Friend You Desire
Point 1: Unfaithful Friends Lead to Slow Destruction
Unfaithful friends don’t usually destroy you loudly—they do it subtly. Their inconsistency creates instability. They encourage
compromise, withdraw in pressure, and disappear when accountability is required. Over time, their lack of loyalty erodes judgment, confidence, and direction, leading to ruin not by one decision, but by repeated exposure.
Point 2: Presence Does Not Equal Loyalty
Many people are close in proximity but far away in commitment. Unfaithful friends may show up for celebration but not for correction or crisis. The scripture warns us that access without faithfulness is dangerous. True friendship is proven by consistency, not convenience.
Point 3: A Faithful Friend Operates Like Family
The friend who “sticks closer than a brother” represents covenant, not convenience. This kind of friend stays when seasons change, tells the truth when it’s uncomfortable, and protects your name when you’re not in the room. Their loyalty reflects God’s own faithfulness—steady, sacrificial, and dependable.
Point 4: Discernment Determines Destiny
Your future is directly impacted by who has permission to influence you. Choosing faithful relationships is not emotional—it’s spiritual wisdom. God uses people to preserve you just as much as He uses people to promote you.
